COURSE SUMMARY

The MoP Practitioner portfolio management training will refine knowledge gained during the MoP Foundation course and prepare participants for the MoP Management of Portfolios Practitioner certification exam.More specifically the MoP Practitioner training course aims to:

  • Develop the participant’s ability to apply MoP in different business environments and scenarios
  • Prepare participants for the 3 hour MoP Practitioner certification exam

COURSE AIM

  • Expand understanding on how to apply and tailor MoP principles and practices to a given business environment
  • Improve analysis of portfolio data, documentation and roles in relation to a given scenario
  • Improve application of portfolio management techniques
  • Provide candidates techniques for approaching the MoP Practitioner certification exam

  • Senior managers in a portfolio management role wanting to apply a best practice approach for managing a portfolio of change
  • PMO – portfolio and programme management office staff
  • Individuals responsible for establishing sound governance practices across a portfolio of change

COURSE COMPOSITION

This portfolio management training and certification course is a scenario-based program focusing on the application of the MoP portfolio management principles, practices, documents, techniques and roles. The training includes review, revision and sample exam sessions aimed at refining each participant’s understanding of how MoP can be applied.For public courses the Practitioner course is a 2 day event. Upon request, our Practitioner course can be extended to 3 days for corporate in-house training.

COURSE PREREQUISITES

Passing the MoP Foundation exam is a prerequisite for completing the MoP Practitioner exam.We also recommend Practitioner participants complete approximately 5 hours pre-course work.

EXAM

The MoP Practitioner exam is an ‘objective’ style, 3 hour, 4 question, open book scenario based exam. Questions are presented in the following format:

  • Classical multiple choice
  • Multiple response
  • Matching
  • Sequence
  • Assertion/Reason

The maximum score for the exam is 80 marks. A participant must score 40 or more marks to attain MoP Practitioner certification
