COURSE SUMMARY

The Practitioner program will refine the knowledge gained during the Foundation course and prepare participants for the APMG Change Management Practitioner certification exam.

More specifically the Change Management Practitioner training course aims to:

  • Develop the participant’s ability to apply change management principles and models in different situations and scenarios.
  • Prepare participants for the 2.5 hour APMG Change Management Practitioner certification exam.

COURSE AIM

By attending this Practitioner change management course participants will improve understanding of:

  • Recognized change management models
  • The links between change and individual learning objectives
  • The use of portfolio, programme and project management as models to govern change
  • Application of organizational levers to support change

This program will also provide techniques for approaching the practitioner certification exam

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

Sponsors of change, change managers and change agents, project and programme managers, staff leading business improvements at the local and organizational levels. Programme, Portfolio, Change Management Office (PMO/CMO) management and staff supporting a portfolio of change or broader transformational change.

COURSE COMPOSITION

This change management training is a scenario-based program focusing on the application of change management principles, models, documents, techniques and roles. The training includes review, revision and sample exam sessions aimed at refining each participant’s understanding of commonly accepted change management practices with focus on individual change, organizational change and stakeholder planning and communications engagement.For public courses the Practitioner course is a 1.5 day event. Upon request, our Practitioner course can be extended for corporate in-house training.

COURSE PREREQUISITES

Passing the APMG Change Management Foundation exam is a prerequisite for completing the APMG Change Management Practitioner exam.

EXAM

The APMG Change Management Practitioner exam is an ‘objective’ style, 2.5 hour, 4 question, open book scenario based exam. Questions are presented in the following format:

  • Classical multiple choice
  • Multiple response
  • Matching
  • Classic ‘No, No, yes, yes’
  • Assertion/Reason

The maximum score for the exam is 80 marks. A participant must score 40 or more marks to attain the APMG Change Management Practitioner certification
